Selling your car from Deventer to the export trade: how it works
Got a high-mileage diesel, an ex-lease car, a company van or a damaged car? We pass it on to car companies abroad, free and without obligation. If an offer comes in, we forward it to you and you decide.
- Free and without obligation
- Built in 2008 or later
- You decide on any offer
Do you have a car in Deventer with more than 200,000 km on the clock, a diesel engine or some damage? Or an ex-lease car or company van you want to sell? Through Auto Export Deventer you can offer it to the export trade. We pass your car on to our network of car companies abroad. If they make an offer, we forward it to you.
We do not buy cars ourselves: we act as an intermediary and then arrange the export papers. Requesting an offer is free and without obligation. You decide whether to sell, and nothing happens without your agreement.
Which cars from Deventer suit the export trade?
The overview below shows the cars our export partners are looking for. All of them must have been built in 2008 or later. Think of a diesel with high mileage, a car returning at the end of a lease, a van from a business, or a car with damage. Not sure whether yours fits? Call or message us for free advice.

How it works
- You send us the details and photos of your car, via the form or WhatsApp.
- We pass your car's details on to our network of car companies abroad. They may make an offer.
- If an offer comes in, we forward it to you. You decide whether to sell.
- Agreed? The export transfer can take place at our desk in Hengelo: you receive the vrijwaringsbewijs (proof of deregistration), the buyer receives the export documents and, if needed, export insurance and two white plates.
We act as an intermediary; the offer comes from a car company abroad. There is no guarantee of an offer.
Car details and photos to send from home
A car company abroad can only make an offer if it knows what it is buying. Please send:
- registration number, make and model;
- year of manufacture and mileage;
- fuel type;
- condition and any damage.
Photos complete the picture. Useful shots include all four sides, the interior, the dashboard showing the mileage and close-ups of any damage. The form at the bottom of this page has no upload field, so use the button to send photos via WhatsApp, which opens a pre-filled message. Email works too. That way, the whole first step happens from home, without a drive to Hengelo.
How an offer from car companies abroad reaches you
We pass your car on to our network. If one of the car companies makes an offer, we forward it to you. You consider it in your own time and decide. If you say no, that is the end of it and you pay nothing.
An offer is never certain: the companies decide for themselves whether to bid. That is why we do not quote amounts in advance or promise a time frame.
One trip from Deventer: the export transfer at our desk
If you accept the offer, the export transfer can take place at our RDW-approved desk at Slachthuisweg 135 in Hengelo, about 48 km from the Brink, roughly 40 to 45 minutes via the A1.
On export, the car is not registered in the foreign buyer's name in the Dutch register. The RDW advises making sure that the buyer exports the vehicle in their own name. At the desk, this means:
- you receive the vrijwaringsbewijs, proof that the registration in your name has ended;
- the buyer receives the export documents: the export certificate (registration certificate part II) and the registration card with one corner cut off;
- if the buyer drives the car to the destination country, they also receive temporary export insurance and two white export plates.
After the export, your obligations for insurance, the APK (Dutch roadworthiness test) and motor vehicle tax end (source: RDW). Read more about these papers on our page about how to deregister a car for export.
Selling for export costs you nothing: who pays what?
For you as the seller, our help is free and without obligation. Requesting an offer costs nothing and commits you to nothing. The buyer pays for the export papers and, where needed, the export insurance and white plates. The rates are on our car export documents prices page.
Selling a car for export from Deventer without delays
Because our desk is not in Deventer itself, it pays to prepare the transfer well. Have these ready:
- the registration card with its tenaamstellingscode, or the old paper documents (tenaamstellingsbewijs part 1B and overschrijvingsbewijs);
- the yellow Dutch plates, which are handed in on export;
- the current mileage.
The buyer brings a valid passport, ID card or driving licence and provides their full address abroad. If the buyer cannot come to the Netherlands, the RDW allows a contact person in the Netherlands to arrange the export. Please call or message us about 20 minutes before you arrive.

Selling for export from Deventer: what sellers ask us
Do you buy the car yourselves?
No. We act as an intermediary: we pass your car on to our network of car companies abroad and forward any offer to you. We also arrange the export papers at our desk in Hengelo.
Will I always get an offer?
No, an offer is never certain. The car companies abroad decide for themselves whether to make one. If no offer comes, it costs you nothing and you are not tied to anything.
What does it cost me as the seller?
Nothing. Requesting an offer is free and without obligation. The buyer pays for the export papers and, if needed, the export insurance and white plates.
Do I need to visit Hengelo to get an offer?
No. You send the details and photos from Deventer by WhatsApp or through the form. Only if you accept an offer can the export transfer take place at our desk at Slachthuisweg 135 in Hengelo.
My car was built before 2008. Is it worth sending?
Our export partners look for cars built in 2008 or later, so we cannot offer an older car through this service.
