What car export papers cost for Deventer: every rate explained

Buying a car in the Netherlands and collecting it in Deventer, or exporting your own car from the area? Then it pays to know the costs before you set off. Our RDW-approved export desk is not in Deventer itself but at Slachthuisweg 135 in Hengelo: about 48 km from the Brink, roughly 40 to 45 minutes via the A1. With a confirmed price and complete papers, you only need to make that trip once.

How our prices work
- Desk prices are starting prices (the BPM refund service has a fixed fee), including VAT where applicable, and apply during office hours: Monday to Saturday 10:00 to 16:30.
- On Sundays we are open by appointment at a higher rate: call or WhatsApp first for the final price. A surcharge may apply outside office hours.
- The additional rates are guide prices. A written price confirmation for your vehicle, route, start date and shipping always takes precedence.
- You always know the price in advance. You can pay in cash or by bank transfer.
What the desk prices for car export include
All desk prices are starting prices, including VAT where applicable:
- Export document. The car is deregistered from the Dutch register for export. The buyer receives the export certificate (registration certificate part II), the seller receives the vrijwaringsbewijs (proof that the registration has ended), and RDW processing is included. - Export insurance with white plates. 14 days of third-party liability cover, a Green Card and white export plates, two for a car. Deregistration is not included.
- Complete export package. Everything above in one go. This is the standard choice if you drive the car home on its own wheels.
If the car leaves on a trailer or car transporter, it usually needs no driving insurance, and the export document is often enough.
Separate rates: extension, EX-A and BPM service
Three items in the first table do not apply to every export. An export insurance extension adds 14 days at a time and needs the insurer's approval. The EX-A customs document is the export declaration with Dutch Customs; it comes on top of the export document and only applies to destinations outside the EU. The BPM refund service has a fixed fee and does not include the export document. Whether you get a refund is decided by the Belastingdienst, the Dutch Tax Administration.
Arranging car export from Deventer remotely: what it costs
Cannot come to Hengelo? Much of the export can be handled at a distance. You prepare the application online and send the yellow plates by post or courier; we start once they arrive. Documents and plates are sent insured and with tracking, abroad too.
The second table shows what these extra steps cost. The export document by post includes an insured DHL shipment, and the price of the complete package by post depends on standard or express shipping. A middle way is online preparation with the plate exchange at our office: the paperwork is ready in advance and your visit stays short. Postal delivery, especially abroad, costs more than collection; we confirm the price beforehand.
When your car export costs more
The starting prices apply during office hours, Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 16:30. You may pay more:
- on Sundays, when we open by appointment at a higher rate; always call or message us first for the final price;
- outside office hours, 24/7 by appointment, when a surcharge may apply;
- for postal delivery, especially abroad;
- for heavy or special vehicles: a motorhome, van or truck over 2,500 kg, or a vehicle with foreign documents, is priced on request.
Guide prices for caravans, trailers and extra services
The third table contains guide prices. A caravan or trailer also needs export insurance when it is exported. For a trailer or semi-trailer, we arrange the cover on the chassis number. The caravan package depends on weight, route, documents and the insurance required.
Is the APK (Dutch roadworthiness test) about to expire? The export registration is valid for 14 days, but never beyond the APK expiry date; the table also lists an APK service. One-day cover, breakdown assistance on selected routes and COC assistance are listed there too; we confirm conditions and availability in advance.
How to get a confirmed price before leaving Deventer
A written price confirmation for your vehicle, route, start date and shipping always applies. Send us the following by WhatsApp, email or through the contact page:
- the registration number and type of vehicle;
- whether the car will be driven or transported;
- destination, route and the start date for the insurance;
- whether you will visit the desk or prefer the postal service.

How much does it cost if I cannot come to Hengelo?
Then our postal service is the answer. The export document by post costs €120, including an insured DHL shipment with tracking. The complete package by post costs about €270 to €300, depending on standard or express shipping. You first send us the yellow Dutch plates; processing starts once they arrive.
Is a Sunday appointment more expensive?
Yes. On Sundays we open by appointment at a higher rate, so always call or send a WhatsApp message first to get the final price before you set off from Deventer.
Why are most of your prices starting prices?
Because the final amount depends on the timing, the shipping and the vehicle. Outside office hours, for postal delivery and for heavy or non-standard vehicles the price can be higher. We always confirm it in advance.
